The Paddlers Christine Johnson is a single mom in Austin, Texas who writes about fly fishing on her blog FlyFishChick.com. Christine is passionate about trout in Montana, Bahamian bonefish, good TexMex food, cake decorating shows on TV, and vintage country and western music. As much as she loves the outdoors, a three to four day hellish canoe race is WAY outside her comfort zone. Phil Meyer is an avid outdoorsman and licensed paddling instructor. He works as a robotics engineer and does emergency medical support for Expedition School for events. Phil is also licensed in Advanced Swiftwater Rescue. He is a 2009 Texas Water Safari finisher, and he has raced in The Colorado 100 and The Missouri 340. When he's not paddling, Phil also enjoys cycling, climbing, hiking and camping.
